Port of Rotterdam installation including load fuse bollards, fenders and UHMW-PE facings

The Port of Rotterdam recently renovated their second Oil Port. QuayQuip-Eurotech provided a package or port equipment – fenders, fabrications, steel casting and low-friction virgin UHMW-PE face pads.

Connecting the fender beams to the existing structure was solved using special adapter brackets which allowed for variations and tolerance, creating a perfect and simple fit.

The bollards incorporated QuayQuip-Eurotech’s ‘load fuse’ technology. This is a specially designed connection between the bollard neck and baseplate. The load fuse provides a defined maximum force to help prevent structure overloads. Conventional bollards (especially cast iron types) and break-off bolts can permit excessive loads leading to structural damage.

QuayQuip’s most common load fuse bollard is the Tricorn ETG type, but the same technology is available for other popular steel bollard types including the T-head.
