Malabo Port receives new QuayQuip Pneumatic Fenders

QuayQuip has supplied the port of Malabo with QPF Pneumatic fenders. Sited on the coast of Bioko Island, the northernmost part of Equatorial Guinea, Malabo serves general cargo and bulk vessels from 10,000 to 100,000 DWT.
Seventeen sets of 2.5 x 4m QPF Pneumatic Fenders were fitted with catenary chains to allow rise and fall against the face of a new concrete caisson structure.
Every QuayQuip floating fender is built to last, and the QPF Pneumatic range is no exception. High quality mouldings and strengthened end fittings ensure a long service life with little need for maintenance. Valve inflation gear is provided for rapid deployment.
The order was taken at the height of QuayQuip’s record month for orders, May 2010, and the final delivery took place toward the end of the year. The contractor was Etermar, based in Portugal.
