QuayQuip supplies Manila North Harbour upgrade

QuayQuip has supplied 90 sets of QCN Cone Fenders and 39 cast steel, 100 tonne capacity T-Head Bollards to Manila North Harbor.

Manila North Harbor is the largest domestic cargo and passenger port in the Philippines. Its owners have invested PHP570 million (GB£8.6m or US$13.8m) to bring the entire facility up to date. The first phase of the project nearly trebled the port’s container capacity to 2.8 million TEU. The port’s passenger terminal is also seeing a major upgrade.

QuayQuip T-Head Bollards at MICT, Manila

The Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) has been equipped with QuayQuip T-head bollards as part of the Berth 6 expansion programme.

ICTSI’s flagship port in the Philippines has more than trebled in capacity since its acquisition in 1988. Over the last ten years it has taken on bulk and other non-containerised cargoes in addition to an annual container throughput of around 2 million TEU. The Berth 6 project adds 300m of quay and increases the port’s annual capacity by almost half a million TEU.

Element fenders for Torry Quay deepwater berth

QuayQuip have supplied Element Fenders to a new deep-water berth in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Torry Quay in Aberdeen has been rebuilt as a 300m deep water berth as part of Scotland’s National Renewable Infrastructure Plan. The £19 million redevelopment on the south bank of the River Dee offers better aligned berths and a stronger concrete deck for improved heavy lifting. It will primarily serve oil and gas supply vessels heading for nearby North Sea facilities.

QuayQuip facings for Kenya’s latest naval vessel

The Kenyan Navy’s latest vessel, the KNS Jasiri, has docked in her new home port of Mombasa at a berth equipped with QuayQuip fender facings.

At QuayQuip’s advice the jetty’s existing timber facings were replaced by piles installed in front of the quay structure, protected by machined UHMW-PE facings. QuayQuip supplied 41 sets of panels with 6000×300mm contact areas, each 100mm thick.

Andy comes to QuayQuip after twenty years in the aerospace, marine and motor sport sectors, where he managed key accounts and led new business development.

New QuayQuip site launches in October

The QuayQuip website has undergone a major overhaul. The new site will go live on Monday 1 October.

From Monday, www.quayquip.com will look very different. As well as expanded product details and more information about the company, the resources section has been completely redesigned.

Existing user accounts will be transferred to the new site automatically. Don’t worry if you don’t yet have an account: we will be welcoming new registrations from Monday onwards!

Twin Cone Systems for Kerry Siam Seaport, Thailand

Kerry Siam Seaport in Thailand has been extended and equipped with QuayQuip QCN Cone fenders.

The Berth Extension (Phase III) project at Ao Udom, Sriracha in Chonbury Province, has added a 150 metre by 54 metre quay to the north of the existing berth, to serve bulk carriers up to 100,000 DWT and post-Panama container ships.

Puerto Nuevo, Colombia, chooses QuayQuip Cone Fenders

In 2011, construction work began on a new coal port at Puerto Neuvo, in the Magdalena region of Colombia. The $60 million project has created a direct loading, multi-user coal port that should be fully operational by early 2013. Puerto Nuevo is expected to handle 30 million tonnes of low sulphur coal, rising to 40 million tonnes within a few years.
